Today 4th June 2025, Jinja College held its handover and swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected student leaders. The event, organized by the Electoral Commission, commenced with the declaration of successful canditates of both the prefects and UNSA bodies by Mr. Samanya Andrew in the presence of the school Chaplain, Deputy head teacher, the teachers and entire student fraternity.
Leadership transitioned within the Prefectorial Body, Students Council, Monitorial Body, and Students Court. Incoming leaders took an oath, led by the HP elect Lubogo Prince Charles (S5 Science),pledging to serve with integrity, commitment, and discipline after outgoing leaders passed on the mantle of leadership.
The out-going student leaders recieved tokens of appreciation from the administration wishing them the best in their political and leadership careers.
Students and staff witnessed the ceremony. Student Leaders’ Patron, Ms. Abeneitwe Peace, encouraged the new leaders to take up the mantle and responsibility that comes with the post. Deputy Headteacher (Welfare & Co-curricular Activities), Ms. Nafula Elizabeth, urged student support for their elected representatives.
The event highlighted Jinja College’s commitment to fostering student leadership, responsibility, and service.
