Jinja College – Last Saturday (28th March 2026), our campus was a hive of activity as we hosted our highly anticipated Visitation Day. It was a day defined by a strong spirit of collaboration between parents, teachers, and students, centered on the dual goals of academic excellence and practical innovation.
A Dialogue on Academic Progress
The morning commenced with one-on-one consultations between parents and the teaching staff. This vital interaction allowed parents to dive deep into the academic performance of their sons.
“The goal of these meetings is to ensure that every student has a personalized roadmap to success,” noted our Director of Studies. “By aligning the support from home with the instruction in the classroom, we create an unbreakable foundation for our boys to excel in their upcoming examinations.”

Showcase of the Future: The Innovation Fair

While academic reviews were the foundation of the day, the Student Innovation Showcase stole the spotlight. Our young scientists and engineers proved that they are not just consumers of knowledge, but creators of solutions for a sustainable future.
Among the standout projects that left parents and visitors in awe were:
- Green Energy: Fuel from Plastics: Using the process of thermal pyrolysis, students demonstrated how waste plastic—a major environmental pollutant—can be converted into combustible fuel. This project highlighted a sophisticated understanding of organic chemistry and environmental conservation.
- Sustainable Construction: Natural Tiles: Another group of innovators showcased floor and roof tiles manufactured entirely from natural, locally sourced materials. These durable, eco-friendly alternatives to industrial ceramics pointed toward a future of “Green Building” in Uganda.
Empowering the Next Generation
The creativity on display was a direct result of the school’s emphasis on hands-on learning. Parents expressed immense pride in seeing their sons apply complex scientific theories to solve real-world problems.
“I am amazed,” said one parent. “I came to check on my son’s Math and English grades, but I am leaving with the realization that he is becoming a scientist who can help solve the world’s waste problems.”
A Word of Thanks
We wish to thank all the parents who braved the day to support their sons. Your presence is the greatest motivation our students can have. We also congratulate our students for their hard work in preparing their projects and our staff for guiding these young minds toward such brilliant breakthroughs.
At Jinja College, we are not just teaching for today; we are innovating for tomorrow.
